I Am In Control
Ever watch the movie Wanted and go “wow…imagine if they made a game where you could do that stuff, you know shoot around corners and have exploding bullets?!” Well wish no more because it happened. In Weapons Of Fate you take the role of Wesley Gibbons, the protagonist from the movie in what is a spiritual sequel to the motion picture taking place five hours after his assassination of Sloan. The player controls Wesley on his globetrotting adventure to find out what has happened to his parents and why everyone is trying to kill him. The game like the movie is narrated by Wesley and has all of the same actors as its counterpart, which adds a great touch to the immersive feel and story. Wanted switches between your control of Wesley and his father Cross through flashback scenes. As the game progresses you unlock more abilities, like curving bullets and explosive bullets. Graphically the game is very good for a movie based game but average for a next-gen title. There is no shortage of action as almost every level gives you a boss battle. The bullet time slow mo is very useful within the game as you can distract someone by firing a clip and go into a slow-mo and using cover get behind them and fire some bullets into their skull. I would also like to point out that this is an M rated game on the English standards of the ESRB. It’s not for kids, a lot of uses of the f-word and there’s a difficulty called P****, I think you get the point.
Compulsive Hoarder
Throughout the game there are hidden explosive rats and rewards that you can find in the form of concept art all adding to the replay value of this title. The game itself seems to be a little short clocking in at about only five hours. To add more value there are multiple game modes that are unlocked by entering codes found online, such as Adrenaline Mode, Headshot Mode, Close Combat Mode, and Time Attack. The last three will net you trophies upon completing them. With the exception of Time Attack, which requires you to beat the game in the quickest time possible to net you the trophy, the other modes require you to perform a set amount of kills of a type before the next checkpoint. For example, Headshot Mode requires you to score a set amount of headshots. They are fun and challenging at the same time, as well is the The Killer difficulty. The same method of entering code also works for costumes, as the case as the game expands there and requires you to defeat certain bosses with certain costumes.
The Killer
Wanted isn’t your typical third-person shooter based off of a movie of the same name. It’s much more than that, but where you would want to be happy with this title your found you may have paid more than what its worth, I was able to 100% this game in three days. I don’t believe that’s what most gamers want for their cash. I highly recommend renting this title if this strikes your fancy. If not there are better games out there, but at this point you could very well find this title in the bargain bin.
