Snowmobiles Are For Sissies…
It’s that time again! T.G.I.M. The results of this weeks chart shouldn’t surprise anyone. DICE, those Swedish masters of the combative arts released the much anticipated Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on Friday and already it’s battled its way to the top of the pack. Unfortunately for there to be winners there must be losers and Quantic Dream’s movie-in-game-clothing Heavy Rain is down to 4th place. Also slipping slowly down the chart this week is Aliens Vs Predator with a fall from 2nd to 3rd place and Bioshock 2 moves from 9th to 11th. Additionally it seems Bioware’s much lauded Mass Effect 2 has disappeared out of the top 20 all together. As one falls another rises though and emerging from the murky depths of the 20-40 list this week is former champion Assassins Creed 2 with a move up from 31st to 14th. Grand Theft Auto IV makes its way up two positions climbing from 16th to 18th and it’s joined by Uncharted 2: Among thieves which moves from 23rd to 19th. Also fans of dance games will be happy to know that after suffering a fall last week at the hands of Aliens Vs Predator Ubisoft’s Just Dance is back in what is fast becoming its de facto position of 2nd place. You can view the full top 20 below.

BFBC 2 is far superior to COD. A little tip a PGO member gave me was to put your audio settings to war tapes. That combined with a decent surround sound and on-line will sound like your in WW3 at all times

Hmmm, my friends keep raving about BF-BC so I guess I’ll have to look into it. Not sure if I can afford so many games in such a short space of time though! Ooooh, decisions.

The prospect of destroying sniper nests is what might eventually get me to check it out.

Mate (who WAS a massive MW2 fan) has been totally converted to BFBC2 =O He doesn’t even play MW2 anymore and he used to be ~11000 in the world
I’ll prob be picking this game up after I finish Heavy Rain =)

Thats always the difficulty with multiple games that fit the same genre. I’m not sure if I’m ready to retire MW2 as I haven’t done everything I want to do in it yet! Still, I’ll check out some gameplay footage and see what the guys are raving about.

And so yet another reason why demos are a good idea. £30-40 per game is a big investment, if you’re flying in blind. Even if you know what the game is like it can be a bit of a gamble for the price you pay.
PointsCardThat said, MW2 was well worth the money I paid. Other than the lack of dedicated servers, I think it is an awesome game.

Agreed, it’s really screaming out for dedicated servers though and the lag switchers get annoying =/
I’m only allowed to dw 5GB of demos a month lol My dad has capped me so we don’t go over our usage lol

I’ve played COD and I’ve played BF:BC2 and I gotta say I prefer BC2. The games are bigger and more intense and the sound is top notch, even if you don’t have surround sound. Also @Matryx there was a demo available during the run up to release(for the multiplayer only mind, no campaign levels) but its gone now. If it helps in your decision any the game comes with my recommendation, you can trust this face >>
