TheGamersHub – Fallout New Vegas Questions By Fan’s

It is almost time for our return to the Wasteland vault dwellers. We here at TheGamersHub could not wait so we decided to send your wonderful questions we collected a while back to the great people over at Bethesda Softworks and they passed it on to the development team at Obsidian. So without further ado we have your answers. Hope you all enjoy!

The questions answered were taken from this post

Q.) Considering that New Vegas is based around Fo1 and Fo2 area, is the story going to be somehow connected to the first 2 games?

In terms of chronology, New Vegas is closer to Fallout 3. For reference, New Vegas takes place four years after the conclusion of Fallout 3, and 40 years after Fallout 2. Even though that’s the case, there is more connecting Fallout: New Vegas.

New Vegas has characters and storylines in common with the first two games. This is largely due to geography.  It just made a lot of sense for us to return to the western United States and revisit some old friends.

Q.) We’ve seen a lot on the NCR. What about Caesars Legion? Care to say anything about them?

The Legion is a large slaver army that has risen to power by forcibly assimilating tribes across the former western states Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. The group adopted many of the organizational and naming conventions of the Roman Empire. Their view on human rights and slavery is appropriately ancient.
Q.) Will there be vehicles in New Vegas?

There will be no vehicles that the player directly controls. There is a tram that connects Camp McCarran (formerly McCarran Airport) and The Strip, but that is about it.

Q.) Are there going be any Bobbleheads on this game, or anything that adds to your skills and SPEICAL?

We do have similar collectible items in the form of Snow-globes. Those won’t increment your SPECIAL stats, but will be valuable. Skill Books will return, and continue to grant permanent skill benefit. Skill Magazines are new, and will temporarily buff skills (useful for things like Speech or Lockpick checks). There will be one other type of item that will offer permanent player improvement, but that isn’t quite ready to be revealed.

Q.) Will we see the Enclave? If yes, will we see old F2 type of Enclave Power Armour?

The Enclave will make an appearance, and there’s a good chance you’ll see some classic Enclave Power Armor. That’s all I can say at the moment, as nothing has been revealed on this front.

Q.)  Will there be free-play after finishing the main story?

No, the player will be warned prior to reaching the end-game state, but they will not be able to continue playing after completing the main story. They can always open up a save to find undiscovered locations or complete unresolved quests.

Q.) Will we be able to listen to music from our ps3, Xbox360, PC?

No, you can’t create a playlist of your own music. However, New Vegas has more songs than Fallout 3, and there are some great tracks among them.

Q.) Is there any chance of seeing Lincoln’s repeater or some sort of lever action rifle?

Yes, you’ll definitely be able to get a lever action rifle. The Cowboy Repeater and Lever-Action Shotgun are two of my favorite traditional guns. We didn’t carry-over the Lincoln Repeater, but we think gun aficionados will be happy with New Vegas, since we more than doubled the total number of weapons in the game. This does include the weapons that we brought back from FO3.

Q.) Will Fallout: New Vegas have DLC like Fallout 3?

Yes, but no other announcements have been made regarding the DLC.

Q.) Will New Vegas be friendlier to play in 3rd person view than Fallout 3? Some found it difficult to maneuver.

We did tweak the camera and some animations to make it a little easier to play in third-person. Since we added special moves to Melee and Unarmed combat, which are unlocked as you increase your skill in either category, you’ll be able to do things like line up devastating attacks with the Ballistic Fist – my favorite Unarmed weapon which is essentially a sawed-off shotgun gauntlet.

Q.) If you have a Fallout 3 save on your hard drive, will there be any connection?

No, there is no benefit in having a Fallout 3 save present when playing New Vegas.

Q.) It is given that since it’s an open world game type, there will be lots to find as far as easter eggs in Fallout NV correct? Any hints to any of the easter eggs?

There are certainly going to be some hidden collectible items and interesting, hidden locations to find.

Pro Tip: You can find one of them near your burial site in Goodsprings. There are some locations that are going to be kind of hard to find – there’s an underwater cave and a cavernous jungle of sorts. Lastly, if you take the Wild Wasteland trait, you’ll come across little Easter Eggs..

Fallout: New Vegas will release on the 19th of October in US and the 22nd in EU.  Be sure to check out the limited edition and give the game a pre-order; for the UK you can do it direct from the link below.

Nuts, I’m gonna miss Lincoln’s repeater. I hope there’s an equivalent non scoped, uber accurate, uber powerful semi automatic rifle somewhere in the game.

With the western setting I know I’m going to feel the need to roll around dispensing justice like Wyatt Earp and a gun like Lincoln’s repeater would be the ideal tool for the job.
