Dragon Age: Origins – Return to Ostagar DLC Review [Spoilers for those who haven’t played beyond the first two hours of DA: O] You’ll visit Ostagar near the beginning of the main Dragon Age storyline, and this is where the story will twist like crazy, and send you off on your quest. For such an important place, you won’t be revisiting Ostagar unless you download the “Return to Osta... more. -
Mass Effect 2 (Xbox 360) Review

Mass Effect 2 begins with a bang and a twist. I won’t say more than that to avoid spoiling the experience for the four people who haven’t read it somewhere else. The opening cutscene is nearly ten minutes long, and I don’t think I breathed for the entire thing. If BioWare’s mission statement was to ramp up the intensity of the Mass Effect experience then, well, they succeeded. Mass Effe... more. -
FreeSpace 2 Retrospective Review

One of the great things about being a PC gamer is the sheer range of games released for the platform over the years. One of my personal favourites, and one I’ve recently enjoyed playing again, is FreeSpace 2. I’ve decided to see if I can’t convince a few others to have a go with the game, therefore I present here a retrospective review of the game, and following on from that I’ll present a... more. -

The final new unit for the existing Dawn of War II races has been unveiled by Relic. Chaos Rising is not only set to add a new campaign and a new multiplayer race in the Chaos Space Marines, but each existing race will get a new unit. I’ve already covered the Tyranid Genestealers and Tyrant Guard, Space Marine Librarian and Eldar Wraithguard in previous articles, which just leaves the Orks and t... more. -

Creed Arena Review: Another Perspective

Creed Arena is an Xbox Live Indie Game, developed by Safari games and released at the beginning of this year. Creed Arena pits you, the player, in Gladiatorial showdowns in a futuristic tournament, and politely asks you to destroy your enemies with a variety of weapons across numerous game types. Creed Arena can either be played with a top-down view or an over-the-shoulder view. I found the top... more. -
The Future of the RPG

(Note: not that kind of RPG. I just couldn't resist. Punning was once the highest form of humour, you know. There's a good reason it's not anymore.) The videogame has been around for a little while now, and it’s evolved considerably from its roots in the arcades. Games of today are mind-bogglingly complex compared to what they were even as little as ten years ago. Who knows where they’ll be... more. -
Mass Effect 2: Class Roundup
4 CommentsPosted by TomDann87 on January 25, 2010 under PC, Xbox 360
With Mass Effect 2 released at the end of this week, I’ll grab this opportunity to round up all of the classes available to players since a) they’ve changed a lot since the first game and b) you’ll get the chance to re-choose even if you import a character. The biggest changes are, firstly, you don’t need to pile points into weapon and armour skills, you start off with “mastery” of the... more. -
Dragon Age: Origins – The Stone Prisoner DLC Review

DLC Cost - 1200 MS Points All new copies of Dragon Age came with a code for this DLC (as well as for the Blood Dragon Armour), so those gamers don't really need a review. For those buying a used copy, you may be considering downloading the expansion. 1200MS points is a hefty price tag though, so read on to see if it's worth it. The biggest feature of The Stone Prisoner is, funnily enough, Th... more. -
